Expert Talk: How to repair an electric parking brake

Premature wear and tear? Thermal problems? Not with Frank Schmidt at the helm! He’s responsible for technical service at Continental and knows exactly what to look for when repairing electric parking brakes.

The correct spare part is the first step. But to find that, you first need to identify the brake pad you want to replace. The video also shows you where to get the information you need. After that, it’s down to the nitty-gritty. We explain how to reset the brake piston when the brake pads are worn, if you need a diagnostic device for this, and what’s critical when you’re wiring up the brake caliper. However, when the old brake pads are finally off, the new ones still have to be fitted. You can look over Frank Schmidt’s shoulder in the video as he demonstrates this on the vehicle.

You’ll find even more repair tips and product info on our Expert Talk YouTube-Channel.
