Changing tires with TPMS? This will save a lot of your valuable time!

Twice a year, the car lifts in the workshops are constantly occupied: it’s the tire changing season. More and more customers are also bringing cars with direct or active TPMS to workshops. We tell you how to keep all this work manageable.

A study conducted by Continental last year found that around 60% of drivers prefer to have their tires changed by a professional, and that means a lot of stress for workshops. So the tire changing procedure has to be fast and efficient. However, vehicles with TPMS systems can quickly throw a wrench in the works.

Tire pressure monitoring systems have been standard equipment on new cars for around seven years now, and for good reason too, because they constantly monitor the vehicle’s tire pressure, helping to prevent accidents and protect the environment. For you in the workshop, however, this task also entails some challenges, because TPMS makes tire changes much more time-consuming. Sensors and valves have to be serviced, wear parts replaced, and new sensors trained according to manufacturer specifications – so the working time per tire change increases. Our tip will help you to remain efficient.

TPM sensor relearns made easy – with TPMS Pro

It would all be so simple if every vehicle had the same electronics system – but that’s not the case, and this doesn’t exactly make it easier for you to teach the tire pressure monitoring sensors how to do their jobs. But help is at hand! A suitable testing and programming device will help you to follow each manufacturer’s specifications during the relearn process. Our TPMS Pro service device is perfectly adapted to your needs: Thanks to comprehensive OBDII relearn procedures, it helps to load newly programmed TPM sensors directly into the ECU. It also reads out TPMS error codes and enables direct searches for spare part numbers – so you can complete the relearn process safely and efficiently. And that means a lot less stress.

All the functions of the TPMS Pro at a glance

  • Checks and programs universal TPMS sensors
  • Uses OBDII to reset TPMS on more than 60% of all vehicle models
  • Decodes and reads out TPMS error codes (DTC codes)
  • Acquires sensor IDs automatically via OBDII
  • Searches for TPMS spare part numbers (OE and aftermarket)
  • PC synchronization and software updates wirelessly via WLAN
